"I have worked for Reuters and then Thomson Reuters for many years. While working here I have seen many changes, some for the better and not so good. The company has changed from a more friendly, work well with everyone to more of a cold machine that does not care about abilities and experience, and knowledge. The focus now seems to be to increase the bottom line at any cost."

The good: TR conducts itself in a very ethical manner, and has great policies regarding diversity and seems to be very supportive of the communities in which it operates. The bad: it can be very disorganized at times. While the company is very professional, as a software developer I don't find the environment to be very vibrant - there are too many silos. A more collaborative workplace would be much more satisfying."

"The merger, the layoffs, the 'not knowing'..."

"HR needs to take a stronger role in folding in the former Thomson Corp folks that made this company what it is. They lost a lot of talent during the merger."
