"I love being a teller. Tellers are the front faces of the bank. We get to meet and help out so many faces throughout the day. Because we meet so many people and deal with the public all day makes your day go faster, and it's fun to interact with different types of people and learn about their lives and background."

Teller at Zions Bank

"I really like being able to work with people, helping them to resolve their problems. Although Zions bank pressures me to pressure others into products that are very low quality compared to other financial institutions, I still enjoy helping others sort out their finances."

"I enjoyed becoming a teller and later a banker. Building those long lasting relationships with my clients and community meant a lot to me, but Wells Fargo's leadership wanted us to treat them like numbers. To all but spy on them and definitely nickle and dime them."

"I thoroughly enjoy assisting members and co-workers to their utmost benefit. I find the finance and accounting field to be one of the most important areas of trust and pertinence in our society today. To be deemed successful and trustworthy in this line of work is a tremendous asset that cannot be overstated in our current economic and financial system. As long as there are no hindrances in job accomplishment, I have no complaints about this line of work."

Teller at Sovereign Santander Bank
in Bethlehem, PA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"This is the most horrible place I have ever worked at."

What do you like about working at Sovereign Santander Bank?

"Free employee checking account. If you work part time you may elect to have health insurance."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not even bother to interview. This place is full of lies and will be deceitful to get you in the door and then the cutting of hours and lies begin. Steer clear of Sovereign bank at all costs!!"

What don't you like about working at Sovereign Santander Bank?

"Constant lies and betrayal. Company policy no Teller should work alone. All the time we are short staffed and will NOT offer extra hours to even part time employees. Customers are irate! Employees blamed for not stepping it up a notch. When your offered Full time they expect you to take a pay decrease. They do not care that your safety is at risk by just allowing 1 person behind the Teller line. DO NOT work here. Attitudes abound. Extremely poor management. Every bank I have been in is fully staffed. What customer in their right mind would want a bank with just 1 teller working by themselves CUSTOMERS of Sovereign beware!! Go to a Bank where they truly care about Customer Service!!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Since you cut everyones hours, why don't you do the same Eliminate the fat from the top down, not the other way around. Be honest and don't lie to employees or try to trick them. Don't hire someone at a specific amount of hours then turn around and say we have to cut hours and thats not the hours you were hired for. Sovereign just had record profits!! Stop ripping off people who are struggling to make ends meet!! And before you say then go somewhere else, jobs are scarce today. People of all jobs skills need to be treated equally and fairly!!"

Teller at First Cash Financial Services
in The Colony, TX

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"The compensation you we will receive, at the most 12/hr, isn't worth it"

What do you like about working at First Cash Financial Services?

"It is good experience to take with you to your next job"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Dress nicely and be polite chances are you'll get the job they are really hurting for people right now. They are probably painfully aware that if they do not hire people soon they are going to lose more employees"

What don't you like about working at First Cash Financial Services?

"Due to company policies there is an extremely high turnover rate causing every store to be short staffed forcing their employees to cover stores 30 to 45 minutes away without extra compensation. There is no PTO, you are required to work weekends and holidays (no you dont get time an a half for holidays) also it will take you roughly 3 years to reach the equivalent of a $1 raise. The highest promotion you are likely to receive is supervisor the compensation does not equal the title."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire more people, I cant stress this enough. If you want better candidates then you have to offer better compensation, you get what you pay for. Start hiring part time employees to alleviate some of the stress of your full time employees. New hires are quitting before they finish training seasoned employees are leaving logic would suggest that company policy might need to undergo some changes. Also don't open on holidays the small amount of money you make isnt worth it compared to your employees career bliss"

Teller at Bethpage Federal Credit Union
in Melville, NY

What do you like about working at Bethpage Federal Credit Union?

"Bethpage FCU is there to help their members. I like that my desire to help people can be directly backed by our products. And in those certain personal cases I can get my manager to go over the top and help people in ways I don't yet have the authority to do.I also appreciate my co-workers and work atmosphere as well as benefits provided by the company."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's a great company to work for that promotes from within. However, use the intranet to learn the important peopke and make connections through community events because actual performance will only get you so far."

What don't you like about working at Bethpage Federal Credit Union?

"The pay is a little below average. But the benefits are definitely above average. Including health/denta,l 401k double of 3 percent and match the next 4 percent contributions (7% total), gym reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, potential house purchasing assistance etc."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Less than two weeks ago I was finally promoted to full time after two years of part time but working 32+ hours per week. During my first year with the company I have received awards such as the iPad 2 and more because I have exceeded my goals and was even the top producer for certain tasks. I have one of the best possible repertoires with the members and my net promoters and mystery shops prove that. Point being, there are few employees, if any at all, that were more qualified for jobs I applied for within the company. So if I were running the show, I'd make the promotion process more merit based. Not just who you know."
