26 Technical Support Analyst Jobs Nationwide

The job of a technical support analyst is to troubleshoot computer hardware and software related problems. They may also provide basic computer training for clients and customers. On a typical day, a technical support analyst will use problem solving skills to support client needs and assist in computer repair.


Skillset: It is required that technical support analysts show strong technical and communication skills. They must have the ability to follow complex technical procedures while being able to explain information to clients. It is equally important that they demonstrate the ability to work well in a team environment, as they may be required to work on bigger projects in a group setting.


Education: The technical support analyst position is considered to be entry-level and has varying requirements based on the employer. A high school diploma and GED with proof of computer experience may be enough for some companies. Other employers may require a degree in computer science or information technology.


Career Path: Technical support analysts are expected to develop excellent computer problem solving abilities and show strong communication skills. Pursuing a degree in computer science or information technology is a great way to increase desirability and gain promotions. Gaining industry certifications such as CompTIA’s A+ and Network+ can also help build up a resume.
