"Long hours, high stress."

What do you like about working at Target?

"Fun co-workers, especially as a young, recent college graduate. Attractive starting salary, but not nearly as attractive when you realize how many hours you'll be expected to work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared to provide specific examples at all levels. The company places a very high value on good interviewing skills, and your ability to express yourself in that setting will have a huge impact on your ability to not only get the job, but to move up down the road. Focus on customer (guest) service, integrity and high energy/accountability in your answers."

What don't you like about working at Target?

"Long hours, looked down on if you need to take time for an appointment, if you're sick or if you want to take vacation for more than a few days. As a result, you end up working sick, and wearing yourself thin with little to no time off. Your ability to get promoted is highly dependent on who you are working for. You can go from high potential to mid-range performer to high potential to problem performer without changing your work habits at all."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Value your employees more, and spend the money to staff the stores well. Even as a customer, I notice that it's hard to find someone on the floor to help, and the cashier lines seem to get longer and longer."
