"Being a system engineer I was happy as I was able to see and feel things I was working on, unlike in development, in which we will be working on codes alone. I also found a lots of logics playing in this role. Applying and understanding these logics involved such as RAID i.e. lots of combinations possible, was a pleasure to work on. Thing I hate is an environment which is not growing or being stable will not any human intervention here. But it is the goal for every system administrator."
"My job as a System Engineer is to do Data Modeling for the Data and Information Views (DIV's) for the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF). The DoDAF tools that AMC uses need significant work and the requirement for the Architectures we are being tasked to document are poorly defined at best."
"Getting out with customers and addressing their needs."
"No social life. :) I can't spend too much time on my personal life...I love my work."
"I enjoy being able to use both Agile and Waterfall methods to complete a project, but dislike the lack of growth in compensation and the lack of career development opportunities. Things have been relatively stagnant for the past four years, but during that time, I have had the chance to use three variants of SQL (Sybase, MS SQL, Oracle), Microsoft Office, UNIX and Visual Basic (VB6, VBA, VBScript). I am looking for a more permanent position."
"I love being a system engineer, it takes me different places and I am always learning something new while keeping up with technologies within the field."
"I get to work with new technology, which is my hobby and passion."
"Not as Systems Engineer, as a developer, I enjoy coding and logical thinking. No regrets on that."
"Not at all. It's a good job title."
"I love the motivation and support I used to get, the huge potential to build up strong and sharp experiences about edge technologies and the ability to contain the global enterprise network under control.Nothing I hated about my job as a systems engineer."
"I enjoyed my work as systems engineer."
"Oh, I love solving problems.I'd like to have more responsibilities however.Certain amount of authority would be good."
"I love working as an iSeries System Engineer. I find the work challenging and fulfilling. My only problem is the dwindling number of open positions. I think the platform is stable and security but its popularity is fading. Such a shame."
"This profession is not well paid, because many people that don't have a technical o academic studies are working as engineers and killing the market. For the other side it is a challenging profession."
"I really love the challenge and the experience you gain from new issues. It's nothing about this position that I hate."
