2.2 Shaw Industries is a large company. There are many different places you can work with a lot of people that are great, however in some of the manufacturing plant settings the job is more about how to move up and less about how to do your job well. The resources at your disposal are often lacking and sometimes it is very difficult to get the resources you may need. It is hard to start ideas from the bottom up. Most innovation is top down.

4.4 I've worked for Shaw since 2002. Experiences vary by group and direct manager. However, Shaw is a very ethical company with a family friendly culture that goes the extra mile for their customers. Overall, it has been a great career to this point.

Overview Shaw Industries Group is a global manufacturer of carpet and flooring. Established in 1946 by Clarence Shaw, the company originally produced area and throw rugs. By the early 1970s, Shaw had expanded to become the largest carpet manufacturer in the United States. In 2001, it was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway and has since diversified into the global floor covering market.

Shaw Industries maintains its headquarters in Dalton, Georgia. In addition to carpet brands such as Philly Queen, Tuftex and Anso, the company also manufactures tile, stone, laminate and hardwood flooring. Its products are available worldwide, and the company generates more than $5 billion annually from its facilities in the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
