"Be yourself. Mean what you say. Don't be one person in the interview and someone else when you are hired."

"The people who do not treat people as they should."

"That they don't ignore the fact that some of the people do not do their job."

"They gave a good amount of vacation time and sick time. They also provided web classes to further your education in the area you were working in."

"I didn't feel that they were focused on taking care of the people that worked for them or giving positive feedback or bonus."

"Show appreciation and respect for the people working for you."

"Other admins combine ideas and implement them. It was fun to work together on writing the new manual"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Proofread all of your answers. Provide honest answers. Interviewing is a two way street. Do your homework. Remember it's a conversation not a confrontation."
What don't you like about working at Staples?
"My boss sometimes left me out of the loop. Also he occasionally teased me about my Boston accent in front of others. We sat and discussed my concerns. They were quickly worked out which made both of us feel better."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Allow employees to make decisions that will challenge their drive to move forward."
What do you like about working at National Instruments?
"They are a very stable company with casual dress code."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"They only hire the best of the best academically. However, being a culture fit is a huge deal as well. Be passionate about technology and pretend that you salary is not important."
What don't you like about working at National Instruments?
"If you are not an engineer you will go nowhere in the company. Most of their leadership is home grown which leads to lack of valuable outside experience. Their compensation model is not that great, they lean too heavily on handing out company t-shirts and small having parties in lieu of competitive pay."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would bring in more experienced external hires to disrupt the group think and I would pay employees more competitively. I would also let MBA holders be the business owners not engineers."

"Hard working team. Fair and caring boss. Flexible work environment in local policy and practice. Challenging and ever changing."

"Be driven and results oriented. Project a work hard, play hard philosophy."

"International company that is very tech heavy. Must complete online requests for everything, i.e. online request for office supplies had to go through 4 levels of approval."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Reevaluate the day to day office administration procedures and policies to be more user friendly."

"Initially at first there was plenty of work and growth opportunity."

"Unless you are a white man don't waste your time."

"Management only cares about the company bottom line and stock holders. Since I've worked for the company, several employees have either died or needed stress leave."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop hiring egotistical people who don't know the first thing about managing people well."
