"Extremely high trauma stress. Working in ICU was a great educational experience, however, nursing has long work hours with extensive turn around time. I encouraged counseling staff for high stress areas, was not implemented at that time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Not expect nurses to work more than 40 hours, monitor over time hours carefully. Encourage nurse to discuss and decompress stressful situations to avoid emotional burnout"

"Administration. Needs new administrative staff. VP of nursing threatened by growth and educated staff. They do not like professional development if you want to pursue any career goals. VP of Nursing lacks education and Directors do not think for themselves. Behind the times and will fire on the spot absolutely, no job security. Gossip and bad character. Managers compete among selves, do not promote each other. No team work! No mentorship. Promote the wrong people fire the wrong people. Do not waste your time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"New VP with organizational standards open to new ideas, Current in evidenced based practice. New Director who has a mind of her own and can mentor someone. Need administration with integrity, values and education, honest to self. Not just lip service. Get rid to the gossipers who do not know what team work is."
