"At times it can get pretty busy with four things to do at once and all these deadlines, which I like, just not all the time. Then there are times where there isn't much to do. It all depends on how quick the software team pushes out another update that needs tested or if there is a new release for something else."

"Low and unfair wages, lack of training, unprofessional staff members, favoritism/nepotism."

"Wake up and realize that you are no longer in Bangladesh. Your business practices are fit for sweat shops."

"Great coworkers. There are good and talented people that work for Charter."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Yes, stay away from this callous backstabbing crappy company. Only interview with Charter if you are a sadist that craves misery and torture."
What don't you like about working at Charter Communications?
"Mandatory OT. Impossible deadline expectations. Be prepared to work every weekend for two months straight. Don't get comfortable as a contractor, expect to be let go at any time. No chance of ever becoming a full time employee as a contractor. Even if you work off the clock. It will not happen. Expect to come in at dawn on Saturday or Sunday to any empty building and have no support from Admins who have the weekend off like normal people. You are just a number to them. Charter is a sweatshop. Stay away if you have a family life or want to ever advance."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop being so petty and stop throwing people under the bus if you made a mistake. Senior management basically drive the contractors like sled dogs to get a project completed in time with a hard line approach."

"Relaxed dress code, bagels on Tuesdays, better benefits than most places, satellite imagery is cool"

"Don't; unless you are desperate for a job, keep looking, you won't regret it."

"Just about everything; abusive management with unrealistic expectations, high turnover, stressful work environment, high pressure to produce, very little chance to move up, City of Longmont is not a desirable place to live."

"Get new management that understands how to treat employees appropriately. Teach them to listen to and value their employees."

"My manager and the team lead was very friendly. We had outdoor activities once a month."

"This company pay attention to database searching issue. Like Query statements."

"The salary dose not match the work hour. I had go to work from 2am in the morning sometimes."

"Some times we had to wait 6 to 7 hours before we start to work because database server issue."

"It is a great environment, fast paced atmosphere, and the people who work here truly care about the product they make."

"Be prepared to do a lot of studying, training, test taking, and learning new skills. It's a great company to work for as long as you are goal oriented and enjoy the work. It's not for everybody."

"Second shift has very little support available. It could easily take hours to get an answer to what should be a simple problem."

"Employees would be more motivated if an attainable profit sharing goal was in place, if they had access to everything they need to do their job, and if communication was better."

"I do not want like to make recommendations to anyone, I always tell them to go find out for yourself."

"The company representative does not Communicate with personal at Fort Polk, and when ask question takes three or four days for him to respond."

"There needs to be a better communication with the main office through Operations Director."

"I like the people that I work with with very few exceptions. Overall, it is a very good place to work."

"Think about what you want from your job or career. This is a great company if you are not all that interested in quick advancement."

"I don't like that there is very little room for advancement. All of the departments are full to the upper levels of management."

"Everyone should be held accountable for the work that they do. Management should be consistent."
