"Our non-profit progam doesn't fit well into the corporate hospital environment, funding for our program is very limited and there is not enough support provided for administrative/clerical assistance so the management is used in less productive ways."

"Review/revise the budget allocations to provide clerical support for administrative duties so that coordinators and managers can do more high-end program work and oversight/training of staff and develop more efficient systems, policies and procedures"

"Interviews are comprehensive and can be very detail oriented for the position applied for. Over and beyond, the candidates also assessed for general fit into the company culture and careful thought is given before making the final call. Interesting questions asked during interview was 'Pick an animal which best describes your personality and what trait you want to highlight' ... 'What is the most innovative thing you have done so far'"

"Nothing that I do not like. Everything about this company is progressive. Better than any other multi-national organization."

"Show enthusiasm and intelligence. Go into the interview with a clear thought on what type of job suits you best. I was called regarding my application for one role and by being upfront about my skills and desires they actually recommended me for and offered me a different role that suited me well."
What don't you like about working at Expedia?
"I was hired into a position that was new and undefined. After half a year there was a huge shakeup from the top down and my position was redefined in a way that did not excite me."

"Built a better synergy between those working on the tech side and those on the business side."

"It used to be a great company that took care of its people."

"Every department has its own way of interviewing people. It helps if you know someone in power there."

"I dislike the new management hired, and placing old-timers as not part of the new in-crowd."

"Take care of the loyal employees who stuck with the company during its good and bad times."

What do you like about working at Lite Machines?
"The writing and program management work was very interesting: in the field of defense robotics. It was cutting edge work done by very capable engineers. I also expanded into writing lobbying briefs on defense robotics for congress and spent a number of years lobbying on Capitol Hill, which was quite fasinating and enjoyable."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"You need to walk in the door ready to conform. This firm has very mature and meticulous methods defined for every last process and activity within the business. These methods will never be changed or abandoned, so candidates would do well to minimize the extent to which they profess to have lots of new ideas on how to do things, and instead, probe and listen to the experts/owners of the firm outline their tried and true methods. A candidate that absorbs and embraces the established methods has higher odds of being a cultural fit."
What don't you like about working at Lite Machines?
"There is a lack of growth potential, and no health benefits."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"No real suggestions: they seem to be doing exactly the type of work that they want to be doing, for which they are perfectly suited. It's just not a good fit for me anymore: I'm not the typical engineering type that can be happy going to a dark lab every day until I retire. However, this type of work setting is appealing to some!"

"There were many avenues to which we could opt for regarding growth."

"The sky's the limit, if you are open to possible opportunities."

"The acquisition. We were on a scalable path for maturity before we were sold."

"Our group was relatively 'green', given its small size at acquisition. Assimilating into such a large organization, we experienced some growing pains when it came to process and execution."
