"I loved the travel to distant locations, comparable pay, and relaxed work environments. I hated working with adults that had no work ethic, difficult advancement requirements, overcrowding, and misuse of power."

"As a petty officer second class, I enjoy the position in that I have some authority but not all the responsibility, I am eligible in September to move up and feel ready for it. One thing that I have kept from advancements and from one of my supervisors that I believe every person, no matter what authority, rank, military or civilian should have is treat everyone as a human being, I feel that I do that for everyone I work with."

"If you can find someone in the military already ask them to bring you on their ship or wherever they work so you can have a little experience before you join and you hate it because you have 4+ years to wait it out if that's how you feel about it. If the experience is good then you are more than likely to stay in for 20 or you will have a good career if you only decide to stay in for 4."
