Submit a Review"Being a Payroll Manager obviously has its ups and downs. Pay is decent but the hours can be a bit difficult. The job doesn't end until ALL of the work is done. Nothing can be put off until tomorrow. This can be both a good and bad thing."
"I love what I do and can honestly say there is nothing I hate about my job but not being able to pay someone who has done their job."
"I love the day to day challenge of payroll and the taxes and laws that go with the job. I love the benefits that go with it and what is setup in the 125 plan and what is taxable and nontaxable. I feel very strong that ALL employees should understand their paycheck and never feel that they are being cheated. If a problem I will sit down with them and figure out exactly what is wrong and also make sure the employee and manager knows what went wrong."

What do you like about working at Airgas?
"The job description, however, none of it actually described the job I was ALLOWED to do."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you are the type of person that likes to make improvements and feel like you accomplished something each day....Run, Run away as fast as you can. If on the other hand, you want to sit around and do nothing all day, by all means, apply for a job. I just hope you have a thick skin if you do get the job. Apparently, the person before me lasted less than a week. She started on Monday, then left for lunch on Friday and never returned. I lasted almost a year."
What don't you like about working at Airgas?
"My boss was a bully. She didn't want me to make any improvements. She wanted things her way and that way would change direction with the wind. It didn't matter what you did. If you did it this way, she wanted it that way. If you did it that way, she wanted it this way. If you smarted up and did it both ways, she would just hold it on her desk until it slipped between the cracks because she didn't want to make the improvements. I bet now that I am gone, she is pushing through the changes as if they were hers."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Apparently there are a ton of managers that like bullying. I suggest the clean house in HR, then look to build a culture of accountability."

"Remark on the product and the quality and nknow wherever you work there are different employees they are both very helpful and not"

"Working with the main office in France as our operations do not always come first"

"Spend more time on bridging the relationship between corpp and the other places"

"Before we were sold it was a great place to work for. Now because they are moving, not so much."

"Are they willing to move to Georgia? They will do great."
What don't you like about working at AT&T?
"Because they are moving there is no loyalty to the employees, but it is their company, they can do what they want."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"They need to be up front with employees and let them know what is the time frame."
