"I’ve been working at paychex for over a year learned a lot about the industry, the changes for the division I’m in had many changes that limited the opportunities. Has a good training but on your own on a lot of things, some senior reps help out at times but good starting sales job."
"Good opportunity to learn how to be a salesman."
"I love my job here at Paychex, not only I get to help people every single day but I also have a wonderful team that supports me. I get paid fairly for my work and have an ability to not only help out other teams and gain experience but to move up in the company as well."
"5 plus years experience at Paychex"

"you must take a math test so make sure you study basic math... multiplication of fractions, division of numbers with decimals, etc"
What don't you like about working at Paychex?
"clients are treated horribly. Hard to sell products with bad service."
What suggestions do you have for management?

"Good but frustrating. Can't fix bugs unless prioritized."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Dress is business casual. Don't expect too much. You will meet at least one manager."
What don't you like about working at Paychex?
"The VPs get millions of dollars in stock gifts that they sell the same day. Yet the employees (who are the company and you should put your money into what makes the company) make less money than the people at Jiffy Lube and have to wait for 5 years for the 100 shares of stock options at a high purchase cost to become vested. If you don't supervise someone, you barely make a living regardless of skill, experience or work performed."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Share the wealth. Stock gifts should be spread equally. If you (The VPs and Directors) get X shares as gifts, EVERYONE gets X shares. They did the work. You just sit there and go go what happened today with this or that project"
"I have worked at Paychex for many years. In the beginning there was a lot more fun and a team environment. Lately though, there has been a lot of micromanaging, database requirements, WebEx trainings that should be done live and an overall push to make results look better. Instead of worrying about the stats, go back to the relationship that has been sacrificed for the statistics. The relationship they used to foster is hard to develop in a statistic driven cubicle."
What do you like about working at Paychex?
"I really like most of my co-workers. There is a high moral standard here."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The hiring process is very thorough, so don't be discouraged if it takes weeks. You will likely go through several interviews. Ethics are hard work are important here, so showcase that in your interview."
What don't you like about working at Paychex?
"My district sales manager is not a good fit for the position, and (s)he is the third DSM in two years. The sales positions here at Paychex have very high goals attached, a talented, well-balanced DSM is very important."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would institute 360 degree performance reviews for all staff members who have direct reports. I would find a way to pay residual commissions to insurance sales staff."
"My experience with Paychex Inc. has been mostly positive. However, there is a high degree of turnover as is found with most companies in the payroll industry. I have been fortunate to be part of the number one team in our zone this year. However, many of my equals located in other branches, often complain of absentee management, poor training, and high turnover. The company is going through what I would call Growing Pains. Policy seems to change on a regular basis and leads to confusion."
"I was fortunate to work for a great manager but unfortunately the company made changes to the sales roles in the Kansas City area during COVID 19."
"I have been working with Paychex from past 3 years. I found the company has good control over their product and are efficient in managing the employees. It has a very friendly environment making employees comfortable to learn new stuff."
"Professional yet lacking a personal touch."

"The fact that I help businesses everyday save for retirement."

"Be precise about your attributes and what you seek in a new opportunity."
What don't you like about working at Paychex?
"Lack of flexibility and options in product set, I only have two products to sell."

"For my direct supervisor my suggestion would be to take the manager hat off and become more human to the team."
