What do you like about working at Fastenal?
"Great educational opportunity for someone wanting to get into sales. Meeting new people and the challenge of product knowledge."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Try as hard as you can to find another job. Especially if your use to getting paid for your time. If you have no job experience, it's perfect. For Fastenal."
What don't you like about working at Fastenal?
"Terrible pay, both salary and commission. As well as terrible hours. You are expected to work a minimum of 10 hours but get paid less than the nations lowest average salary. By 10 hours I mean closer to 12 a day. My average hourly pay over the last 6 months has been $6.50 an hour, and I am in the top 3 salesman in district. You throw in the cheapest medical and dental care a company can buy and you have yourself a job at Fastenal."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Pay your employee's better, have better incentive programs for top performers, get better medical coverage and scrap your entire support system. Delegating some responsibilities you expect your front level guy's to carry would be beneficial as well to less turnover. Collections and accounting support to name a couple."

"ability to work on my own and good earning potential"

"management not familiar w/ customer base, not in touch with territory"

"I do not feel it's my place to direct management"

"Quick turn arounds on projects and freedon to be able to offer what the customer what we feel works best for them."

"Be honest, be realistic and be ready to prove yourself."

"There were too many desicions based on an underying political agenda."

"Give everyone a fair chance as well as the freedom to make desicions based on individual basis."

"My boss is excellent, and I feel happy when I support him."

"Japanese traditional culture - peace and harmony - is very important."
What don't you like about working at Fujikin?
"Some employees are pessimistic. I am always optimistic. Also, some employees are not taking challenging tasks."

"It is better that top executives communicate with their employees to creat peace and harmony in the company."

What do you like about working at Terminix?
"I really didn't like anything and I was there for three years until I found a better career. Took this job out of desperation."

"Take it while searching for something better. All pest control companies are the same, so pick another industry."
What don't you like about working at Terminix?
"I disliked the mandatory cold calling twice a week. Also the lack of flexibility and how they would micromanage your day with surprise visits. Sometimes they will illegally change your commission on certain jobs because the price of chemicals has gone up. ROBBERY!"

"Be ethical. Think outside the box to motivate your team. Be grateful and appreciative for hard work. Fire yourselves!"

"It's mine and I am at the top.If the economy improved we could survive."

"No because the company is colapsing on itself. I will keep it around if the economy improves."

"I don't like competing with management for sales leads, meaning, managers pick the choice leads."

"Alternate the days that sales people can choose their leads."

"Great sales training program; Little in-office time; Good benefits to employees"

"Find out the turnover rate for the sales staff, and since the current sales manager has been in place. I hope you don't have a nice car because you will beat it to pieces."

"SALES MANAGER. Unprofessional is a kind description. Also, very unrealistic expectations. You can close a $2000 deal today, and tomorrow, they will cut you out and never think of it twice."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Fire the sales manager here. EXTREMELY unprofessional and self-serving. Usually it's great to promote from within... And sometimes it's a disaster. Very young with ZERO management experience. Don't have a care in the world for sales staff; very unsupportive and condescending; swears at employees. The only worse manager here is the Branch Manager for letting it happen... But then again, when you are a complete pushover, nothing good happens."

"Be confident, charismatic, and smart. If you really have to try to do that, you shouldn't be in sales."

"Expensive product, not for everyone. Manager is forgetful. Straight commission sales is very hard."

"Make some cheaper products I can sell to the folks with tight budgets."

"I had the opportunity to liquidate material when a customer defaulted on their commitment but I was not aware that I had that kind of authority and the company had to take a bigger loss in order to liquidate."

"Invest in a California Manufacturers Book every year as a tool for your sales people."

"I received alot of freedom and I loved the people I worked with, except for the headquarters personnel."

"Do not let them oversell themselves on the pay and benefits."

"I received no benefits, no competitive commission structure, and any expenses would immediately be pushed to the individual instead of the company."

"Change the commission structure, give employee benefits, be open to suggestions, and be open to improving business structure and systematics."

"Creating sales, helping people, building teams, building displays and selling events."

"Be honest.Look at the position with an open mind. Understand that you are running a business for some one else and the stress with comes with that. Have great people skills."

"The work schedule is not easy. As management there are three shifts 7a-5p, 9a-7p and 2p-12a. You can work any shift as needed so doing a turnaround is common (2p-12a then 7a-5p). Dealing with upper management is very stressful. No over time as management and repay day are not consistently given."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"better work life balance. better management guild lines for job. Example: how to request days off, the use of personal days, set vacations in stone no cancelling vacations. create a better system to keep up with paperwork needed to meet key standers."

What do you like about working at LKW Concepts?
"There is no part of LKW concepts that I have to praise. The truth is it is a scam that applies to entry-level workers who don't know much about the industry, and I fell for it."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I would recommend to stay away unless the individual finds comfort in their ability to get people to buy anything without a conscious thought about it."
What don't you like about working at LKW Concepts?
"just about everything about LKW concepts I did not like. They only pay 100% commission, which out of your commission they take a percentage, which demonstrates little confidence in employees if any at all. They did not give me commission for three of the contracts I signed up saying that I was still In-training."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would recommend working in something that truly adds value, not one that extracts value out of employees and clients alike."
