"Love building relationships with clients and helping them with their problems. Hate cold calling."
"Being away from my family."
"I love the freedom of being an Outside Sales Representative. It allows you the proper balance of work and family."
"Love talking with others especially when it becomes a friendship rather than a sales call."
"The relationships with some of the customers and some of the places you get to go to are pretty cool other than that you could do $50,000 in sales and they'd tell you your freight is too low."
"I love the freedom to work as hard as I want to reach my goals I set for myself, Not being at home as much as I would like to see my kid grow up."
"I love making my customer happy! That encourages to contact you for other products, ideas, or solutions. The downfall is I can't be at all locations at same time. Love building the trust relationship."
"I really enjoy both outside sales and marketing planning because I love to meet customers, vendors, and partners to succeed in mutual business. Marketing planning is fun. I can present my ideas and coordinate advertising."
"I truly enjoy Outside Sales. Every day is unique and you have the ability to problem solve that can make a difference."
"I truly love being an Outside Sales Representative because of the ability to write your own schedule and that I am responsible for what I promise and not for what someone else must do. I have always been very satisfied being autonomous because I always achieve what I set out to achieve. It was always great to be able to teach and help customers and still know that when I went to work every day that I would learn something new that I didn't know the day before. A great career choice."
"I loved the challenge of sales or I wouldn't have applied for the position. The independence of controlling your paycheck by your individual performance was appealing to me and has always been. Having a sales goal and beating it all the time brings out my competitive nature. I disliked door knocking. Made me feel uninvited and at times you were treated very poorly for coming up to someones home uninvited. That was the hardest part. Just had to over come it like any challenge in sales."
Please give us a one liner to describe this review.
"The comapany is changing with an owner that does not have any vision to grow."
What do you like about working at Progressive Insulation & Windows?
"Well established company in the insulation industry in business since 1978"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Dont be fooled by the size of the companies building. Ask to see the total sales numbers and profitability"
What don't you like about working at Progressive Insulation & Windows?
"Huge separation and a lot of tension between different departments created by the owner. He believes his commissioned sales department is over paid. The biggest problem is they do not understand that they are a sales organization. After a project is sold and paperwork completed by the sales staff the accounting and production departments act as if the sales team is an annoyance. The will find every possible reason to not install the project. Definitely not a company with a can do attitude and team environment"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The management team understands they are a sales and customer service organization. Not a paperwork company. Business & money is generated outside the company."
