"Good old boy frat house. No benefits to improve knowledge unless boss approves and even that is small amount. Hot heads and anger management types get boss roles in most cases. Experts and educated are run out by minimizing their input. Teamwork means keep your mouth shut and cover up for others. They rehire bad employees. They lie to you about benefits, job assignments, while they train or hire others for what you were promised. Not a career but a brief paycheck. They are small time struggling."

"Company is always struggling to get new work so every quarter or so you are on the bubble not knowing if they will have you go on Leave Without Pay or give you a pink slip. They have their favorite managers who are kept and moved up even though they have better Project Directors and Project Managers in the teams. They hire back those who are the drinking buddies or wear the $600 suits. The company has steadily been going down hill over the years. Most keep quite so they can keep employed."

"Male dominated. No chance for women to move into management. Program Manager is a queen bee who still thinks she is an LTC. Men held to low standards. Admitted that she will never move women into management in security. Women underpaid compared to men even those ten years younger than you. EEOC issues are dismissed as the woman's fault. I left after two years."

"Government setting. Very noisy and distracting. Unable to get proper software tools. Approval process for components takes much too long. Low pay. Government civilian managers lacked technical knowledge to provide guidance or advocate for more productive conditions."

"Win 145 million dollar NETCOM/GNEPE contract and then layoff 65 people. Lost Fort Bragg contract a couple of months ago and laid off another 25."

"Not much, it is a tedious place to work if you don't mind that sort of thing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Easy enough to get in, another company with a turnover rate that negates their ability to argue with who they are hiring. If they have a position available they will hire you. Just be on your best behavior for the interview and while you are working."

What don't you like about working at NCI Information Systems?

"Not much, it is tedious work with people yelling at you over the phone for things you can't control."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't ask your employee's to make up for time missed when that time was a vacation."

"Everyday it is feast or starvation atmosphere. They seldom win contracts and even the Program Managers are changing. New PM means huge layoffs. No money for education; go on vacation and comeback to be laid off and no warning even though they new about it. Travel teams fight all the time. Really bad atmosphere all around."

"Management was so close to the people. We did not have to complaint about equipment or lack of resources."

"I did not like the commute. I had to get off metro 4 blocks away and walk to the building."

"Management need to have a shuttle bus that take people from the metro station to the building."

"They got caught in the most recent recession and had to reduce the company by about half."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They ran and run a good company. A significant bond payoff due to concurrent maturity and economic downturn resulted in a perfect storm pretty much out of the control of management. So I would say: try to get luckier next time."
