"I had worked for DirecTV for 6 years when Mastec "purchased" our company. PROMISE: They told me I would keep my seniority along with higher pay, benefits, and more PTO. ACTUAL: I was put in as a NEW HIRE and received nothing. I lost the higher pay bracket, retirement benefits, and extended PTO. PROMISE: I was given 1 week of PTO when I signed on to be used from Aug - end of year. ACTUAL: I went to use it for my wife's surgery and found out I get NONE. No time off!! PROMISE: I was given a $1000 sign-on Bonus. IF I was a senior tech, I would have received in at 60 Days, but no I'm a new hire and I will receive it at 90 days. ACTUAL: I DID NOT RECEIVE A PENNY! I put my resignation in on Dec 10 and the company changed it to DEC 1 and now makes me ineligible. Falsifying docs will get you in big trouble In my 40+ years of experience in overall working, there are only 2 companies I would NEVER WORK FOR and MASTEC is one of them."
"Mastec is a very well rounded company, from upper management to lowest man on the pole, they try to be perfect in attributes of the co. from equipment to people problems they have the resources available to make everyone successful."
"I worked for Mastec for only a few months, but they bought the company that I worked at for 10 years, Directsat USA. It is a national company that manages cable, satellite and various other telecommunications services."
"I started working at Mastec in August of 2018 with no experience in the telecommunication industry. I have learned a ton over the last 2.5 years but feel that my current skill set could be used somewhere else. My employers did a good job of training me but were primarily focused on what "fires" within the workplace needed to be taken care of. Although this was a great way to learn problem-solving on a whim, it causes more stress than there needs to be. More "fires" seemed to happen than actually trying to prevent the fire in the first place. I will say that working at Mastec was like working with family after the first year. Everyone is very supportive of one another."
"I worked for Mas tec company that specializes in Telecom services"
"The company is not for everyone, only compensated for the work order completed. Would not recommend if you are a recent graduate from university. Facing the elements is a challenge in itself as you must combat extreme heat and cold, not to mention the chance of having pests (wasps) possibly sting you, and the quality of the house itself."
"I've worked at MasTec Advanced Technologies for close to a year now but as a temporary contractor. Because of that it's hard for me to say what type of company it is since I'm not an "official" employee. I do not have any of the medical benefits or other benefits that a regular full time employee has so I cannot assess how those benefits impact my life. I can however say that they seem like a company I would be willing to work full time for. The current temporary project I'm working on for them is almost completed and they have given us enough space and empowerment to get it done."
"MasTec is an excellent place to work for."
"Excellent company. Pilot program since 2019. Company is very well known."
"I worked at MasTec managing 2 offices with over 200 employees. As the office manager, I was the first to be contacted when issues arose. I handled employee new hires, payroll and employee relations."
"Needs new people with fresh ideas. Very rudimentary / old school processes. Not an innovative company. Lack of leadership in teams."
"This is a good company that I have worked for since 2015."
"The company I was at, is an elite company. Unfortunately there was no more work from AT&T in 2020"
