Marketing Manager at Electric State of Mind

"The thing I love the most is being able to develop the skill sets required to be a strong leader. Especially working with a start-up I was able to experience what works and what doesn't. I love being able to lead and inspire a team, but at the same time learn from one another. I love being a resource and being able to offer help with training techniques when someone on my team is inspired to learn. The thing I hate about being a marketing manager is giving my team the impression that I'm bossing them around. I understand that taking the managerial role means managing the team, but some people just take it the wrong way. I like to have my team set their own expectations up front, then hold them accountable to each task, because this is the best way to grow."

"This company was pretty good, they treated me well but what their vision for my future was not in-line with mine."

What do you like about working at Shaxon Industries?

"With Shaxon I got the opportunity to really learn how to make a commercial website from the ground up, plus I also learned a lot about desktop publishing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"My interview was very easy, I just spoke in plain english and told them what I did. You should dress nice of course but these people are fairly laid back. if you sound confident you will probably get the job"

What don't you like about working at Shaxon Industries?

"They were trying to push me into a marketing type position which is not what I really wanted to do, I am a tech person (ie code) not a people person so much."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My job should have been handled by two different people. you should have had a Marketing Manager (not me) and a Web/Media Director (me)"
