"There is no redeeming quality to working there. There is a lot of stress and very few answers. There are some nice people that work there."

"Make this your last choice and keep looking. You will eventually feel trapped."

"Work stress is very high. The pay is low. There is a culture of do everything for the company with nothing in return in terms of pay or recognition."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"No one really cares about a chicken dinner. That's an inside joke."

"Working with the people in my department and my new boss."

"Only interview for this job if you want to work long hours, for less than adequate pay."

What don't you like about working at Marinette Marine?

"Lack of appreciation from upper management of the work you do, having to do work for people who are actually responsible for it. No accountability or consequences are upheld for those people in other departments that don't do their work and cost analysts end up having to do it for them. Everything always comes back to what the cost analyst did or didn't do, even if it is completely out of their control. Very poor work/life balance. Individuals cannot give you the answers you need from them. Inter-department team work is nonexistent."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hold the responsible individuals responsible for the work that is there and have consequences for when deadlines are not met. Consult with the people who actually do the work before making a decision on changes."

"I enjoyed learning about the research vessel. It was very new to me and quite exciting."

"Showcase your ability to handle stress and making difficult decisions. Be prepared with specific examples."

"People were unable to change for the good of the company. They clung to the old way of doing things, people were waiting for change, but it never came."

"Management needs to be open and to lead by example. They have to be willing to call managers out when they mess out and hold each other responsible."

"Be skeptical and demand all promises be made, in writing, signed by an Officer of the Parent Company. CAVEAT EMPTOR!"

"Nepotism and third generation, isolated, ignorant, in bred management."

"Eliminate nepotism and family strangleholds on company operations. Deal harshly with the local union representation and actively cultivate the local economy."
