"If you belong to a minority, don't bother to apply. Racial discrimination is rampant. If you have an accent or look different, your career is doomed. You may get the job, but the GM and their followers (low rank managers) will make sure you get burned and leave the company within a year! Cheesecake rocks!"

"My dislikes are: harassment, verbal abuse, no one cares, the lazy GM, and abusive behavior from the managers."

"Stay the same and your company will go bankrupt!"

"Not one thing. The MIT Training was very poor and left a person guessing why they went to work for this company."

"Don't do it! But if you really want to sell out and go for the BMW, just interview with logic and be honest about how you would perform as a CHEESY MANAGER!!!"
What don't you like about working at The Cheesecake Factory?
"I dislike everything from the MIT Training, to the area directors who are so full of S---! Only if you are from the inside of this company do you have career advancement. All the front of house managers are overworked. The general managers lack real talent and education."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"To the corporate officers - you need to start with you. Do you walk the walk and talk the talk Then the ADOs - please stop covering your mistakes and weakness by your inability to perform at an honest level. To the GMs - just work and stop trying to figure out how to cheat the system! To the AGMs - stop trying to prove you are the next best thing and focus on the GUEST & your employees!"

"Periodic review on pipeline opportunities and reassess. They need to improve on Management styles."

"Inadequate listening from employees who are generating revenue and the decisions based solely on Managing executives."

"I enjoyed being the driving force in sales and alot of the training. The Company gives you the freedom to make decisions that most companies try to micro-manage."

"I would say be honest and tell the interviewer what you can do for the Company."

"The hours would really wear you down, even though you enjoyed the job. The particular town I was in was very small and a long way from any large towns."

"I think the time you spend on team building and training is your most important task and can be the difference between your store's success or failure."

"I enjoyed the discount, of course. I felt it was an awesome fit for my personality. It's a cool place to work, unless you're a manager."
What don't you like about working at Journeys Shoes?
"The company requires an audit every time a new manager (assistant, or general) is replaced. This is a policy I agree with. Unfortunately, I fired three assistants for theft, never received an audit after any of them left, and when *I* had an audit, it screwed me to the point of termination. I should have pursued this legally, but I was lucky enough to pick a new job up immediately."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"WATCH your staff. Sometimes even the sweetest, friendliest staff may have a motive to steal. When my assistants worked alone, it gave them lots of time to steal without ME seeing it. Cameras should be installed."
