"Dynamic working environment"

"Worked for Lowes for 5 years and for a retail environment, it is better than most. Lowes has an abundance of training programs for associates to improve on their skills or train for other areas if they desire. But just like most retail positions, hours are horrendous if you have a family."

"Lowe's has been undergoing restructuring for the past few months."

"Management should promote diversification and be more flexible as it relates to home based work activity."

"I like the home improvement environment, and associating with and helping employees better service the customer."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't ask how much you're going to be paid and wait for the time that they're ready to hire you. Quite candidly however, Lowe's is reducing managers and could soon be closing some of its stores nationwide."

"I don't like the work hours and schedule at Lowe's."

"For the most part, the employees at Lowe's were fun to work with. The only exceptions were the ones at the Danville, IL store."

What don't you like about working at Lowe's?

"I didn't like the lack of support for senior management from the district and regional levels."

"Too many district level changes at Lowe's, and too many 70+ hour work weeks."

"Lowe's did provide a rotating schedule for all of its employees. I was able to advance quickly in management and they provided an aggressive bonus structure at that time."

"Ask what the job responsibilities are. What tools are available for getting your job done correctly Allow candidates to talk with employees who are already in this position."

What don't you like about working at Lowe's?

"They held the sales manager responsible for a procedure that was at best impossible to oversee, and they used the policy and procedure to terminate some good employees. A lot of the operational responsibility was assigned to the sales manager."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Rewrite the policy and procedure to keep upper management from using it as a way to railroad people out of a job. Also, more division needs to be done amongst the administration manager and the sale manager."
