"I do not have enough information about management outside of facilities management. But, I would suggest keeping the experienced people over layoffs than new hires. The learning curve can be tough."

"The pay scale was not commensurate to prevailing market standards, given the skills required to effectively and efficiently execute one's job functions, particularly at the senior management level."

"Hire and retain highly-qualified senior management talent. They need to review and adjust the salary range for senior management positions closer to private sector/market standards."

"In existing facilities, there is too much bureaucracy and unknowledgeable accounting people controlling renovation construction budgets & a lengthy/cumbersome change order process, which only hurts the contractor. The prequalification method for approving general contractors performing the work is deficient, which leads to poor performance during operations."

"There are too many different consultants harboring their own for profit/benefit agendas, and no preconstruction/constructability/QA/QC performed on bid documents."

"Computers in any school district, but especially LAUSD, are a wide range of models and operating systems. Learn both MAC and PC."

"Grow up!! Not everyone can be a big fish. There are too many chiefs and not enough Indians to make the contracts go smoothly. Stop wasting money!!"

"There are threats of layoffs and very stressful times. Salary is low and needs an overhaul."

"Side with your employees, unless you are able to do your job and theirs at the same time. Loyalty counts for a lot."

"Learn the law/public law! Withholding funds without a court order is still and always will be stealing. As a private sector employer, employing the private flesh ling, federal and STATE forms do not apply. Read and learn the organic laws. Employees are not SLAVES!"
