"LAUSD is one of the biggest public school districts in the United States. It gives educators a chance to really reach an extremely diverse group of learners in meaningful ways."

QA Manager

"LAUSD is a government company so coming from Yahoo and Disney , it took some time to adjust. They work slow... I work fast. It was hard but I was able to succeed by showing value and then getting my own team, which I molded to my liking. This is not my ideal company but yet, I've been there longer than any other, so the plus side is they are a big company with a lot of challenges... and I love challenges :)"

Teacher

"I’ve been working for LAUSD since January 2019 as a teacher for secondary schools. LAUSD faces challenges in funding and students’ efforts. Despite this, the school overwhelmingly do everything possible to support student achievement and success. I would recommend working at LAUSD for anyone who wants to see students succeed as long as he or she knows the majority of students may not want to succeed themselves."

Substitute Teacher

"As a substitute teacher in LAUSD, many of the questions listed below do not apply. I did not check in with a supervisor and worked more in an independent contractor role. The overall compensation for my work was not enough. The workplace environment and lifestyle were many times challenging. As a substitute teacher, you do not have coworkers."

Special Education Teacher

"I've worked with LAUSD for 7 years now. I have found that this company is based on ethical value as well as being able to work with a team. You have to have a lot a patience when it comes to dealing with young children and I believe that this job gave me those skills. I was able to learn about how to learn things quickly and the importance of staying open to new learning. I also learned that the team is the reason why a school will succeed and the best part of the school is the students which you are teaching."

"This is not a progressive company. Employees join this company with the intent of spending a lifetime there. There is very little incentive to be productive and the intimidation rituals are brutal. I would not recommend it."
