"Great co-workers, and I had the opportunity to gain experience and learn more than at any other mortgage company."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I came to the company through a friend, so the result of my interview was somewhat predetermined. NCM prefers to hire from within, which is really good, but can make it hard for outsiders to get a foot in the door. Be real, honest, and knowledgeable, or at least enthusiastic if you're new to the industry."

"Compensation is at the lower end of the scale, especially for the amount of responsibility."

"It is a contract position and there is not much room for advancement at this time as they work very hard to keep their current staff although inexperienced."

"I feel they should hire staff based on experience and knowledge, not just loyalty which is something they have done."

What do you like about working at South Holland Mortgage?
"The provided me my first experience with mortgage based software and I had the time to learn the program(s) on my own since the company did not provide any hands on training. By working through the program itself on my own it allowed me an invaluable insight on how to help others learn the program."

"The company has changed ownership several times since I was employed there. During the time I was working at Holland I believe I would have looked for employees with strong organization skills, the desire to learn the industry through external courses and to be able to bring that new information to the company to share with others."

"The company did not have any goals at the time. It was in pure survival mode and had not developed any business strategy to move the company forward."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My advise for Holland is that it is crucial to develop a business strategy, organize the internal systems and quality control. Develop a plan for training and integrating new staff members originators into the company."
