"Coworkers. Cross-talk is important and we depended on each other more so than some middle management."

"Think: 'Navy'. Many managers are former Navy officers and they are more agreeable to hearing about Navy porcesses"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get rid of the 'Navy Captain' mentality: ...my way or no way. Middle mgt sometimes fails to accept observations/suggestions from the people in the trenches."

"Make sure that the job structure is fully understood and what merits the position to be advanced - the model worked well in the 50's, 60's and 70's - but with the end of the Cold War - it has slowly morphed and isn't fully understood"
