"Although my graduate program was extremely challenging, I loved it. I advanced beyond my peers due to my mentors' high expectations. I was able to manage the laboratory and conduct multiple research studies simultaneously (including surgery), I also trained 4 undergraduate students in laboratory techniques, surgery, and scientific research; while juggling my courses. Additionally, I presented at multiple conferences in my field as well as others. Furthermore, I also tutored chemistry and bio."
"I love the feeling when I can help physicians' offices solve their patients' problems and I enjoy the feeling when I can help the hospital make money to support other departments in the quest to help patients."
"I enjoyed the sense of ownership of the state of the lab. Knowing that I was tangibly influencing a number of researchers was great. That level of responsibility can be demanding, as unexpected complications arise with regularity."
