"Poor management, employees hate working there. Get no breaks, and ask no questions. The employees make it confusing, blamed it on the newbies. The store manager acts so fake it's kind of strange. They hire and fire you in a week. $8.00/hour for slave labor. They'll try you out for a few days and then say fire you when it's not what they want that second. They wanted all my ideas on how to do things better, then suck all the info out of me and threw me out. Used me for the info. Your relationship with your supervisor, horrible. The relationship you have with your co-workers, back stabbing. Hope they're not that bad off."
"Worst place to work possible."
"I've worked at Kohl's department store in an overnight position for over five years. This position is a very good second job for the hours and pay, but I would not recommend it for a person's sole job."
"I have worked for Kohl's since 2010. I believe it to be a very strong company with a strong emphasis on service and being the very best in the industry, and I enjoy being a part of that."
"I worked for Kohl's Distribution Center for 3 months in a temporary position within their RFID and RED departments. The top managers were practically unknown to me but my direct supervisor was very nice, knowledgeable and approachable."
"The interview process and actually working at Kohl's corporate are very different. like a recruiter from the army and then actually working in the army. The actual culture is very 'mean girls' related. There is no support for anything that would involve conduct. And if you are below management position, you have no voice. There is no respect or consideration for how you feel. Demeaning feedback is supposed to make you feel empowered and fulfilled! Good company but everyone I know has left because of how they were treated."
"I only worked for Kohl's for a couple of months, but do not believe I was given enough training to do the job to the customer's satisfaction. I reported a problem I was having with a phone used by customers and employees and was told they would check into it. The problem was still not corrected by the time I left."
"Overall, not a bad place to work. They need to get rid of so much red tape... it really prevents anyone from moving quickly."
"So, to start out, the training is next to nothing, you get tossed on the floor not knowing anything and looking stupid because you constantly have to tell customers you don't know how to answer their questions. Half the managers don't seem to care and I've only seen the store manager maybe 4 times, he only comes out to crack the whip if we have a visit coming. We are severely understaffed and I ran around doing the work of 2-3 people with no support for horrible pay. Too much clearance!"
"The Kohls in Florence SC is awful. Mostly because of management. They could care less about their employees, bad communication and just overall not a good place to work if you want any respect. The store manager that's there now treats her employees like they are dogs, telling them to do something NOW and just speaking to them with no respect. I have heard her say that the difference between her and her employees is that the employees have to work, she on the other hand doesn't."
