What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pick a set of key initiatives and focus on delivering those extremely well rather than trying to do everything at the same time. Also, be honest, transparent and consistent in hiring, outlining roles/responsibilities and setting goals."

"Helping not only customers but also learning new things about the job and helped manage others by training and solving problems around the job and help with management."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't get confused by someone's way of talking. Follow what's really on your mind and also follow your gut. If it tells you to hire the person you are interviewing then do it, if you have second thoughts about it then let it go. Some people are good in talking but when it comes down to hands on, they are not giving it all. They just need a paycheck and not care."

"Employees that call in all the time."

"To improve the restriction of attendance to better the company."

"Keep the hourly associates a little more informed."

"Ensure that you are fully aware of the time requirements the job will truly require."

"I have been working between 90-100 hours a week for a year and a half, and need to develop a better work/life balance. Also knowing what my peers are making in salary compared to my salary and the work that I do, has been disheartening."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They need to do a complete re-adjustment of their salary base and raise current associates to the level they bring in new associates. As well, when promoting associates to sr. mgnt positions, they should ensure that those associates have at least some relevant experience in the area to which they are moving."

"I enjoy both Photography, and Home Electronics, and to assist customers in getting items from those departments was good because I like to help people. Setting up displays appealed to my creative side."

"The different people to work with and the customers really rememeber who you are, great stepping stone for advancement."

"Just be alert and be ready to work. It's a fast pace business and you better keep up."

What don't you like about working at Kmart?

"I guess not being able to help everyone. You want to help the customers but sometimes you just cannot find a certain product for them."
