3.7 I worked for Kiewit Construction from Feb. 2013 to Sept. 2013 as a laborer and I found the company to be very strong in their efforts to satisfy the customer. The company's dedication to employee safety exceeded all levels of a caring and reputable business. The Kiewit company welcomed and encourages a close and strong communication between the company and its employees, making my time there a pleasant experience.

3.5 I worked for Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. for around a year and a half starting right out of college. I learned a great deal from this company because not only did they have great systems in place for work, they also trained the new and young engineers consistently. I was able to get a full experience of construction in the time I was there and I implore anyone who wants to dive right into high intensity work to do so. The hours are 50 minimum a week and thats just when the project is new or you are estimating in the head office. Most of the time when construction is in full swing, hours will range from 60-80 hours a week. They have many resources and connections that you can potentially use to create your own construction or work strategies and plans.

5 Kiewit hired me within minutes of leaving SSOE; on my last official day at SSOE, 15 Jun 2012, I moved out of my apartment in Ann Arbor to relocate to Kiewit in Lenexa, KS, where I started work on 18 Jun 2012: movers said it takes about 3 months to move out of Ann Arbor when the University of Michigan Spring Session is completed. When I said I was going to work for Kiewit, I was put to the top of the list, and got the same movers that Pizza King, Thomas Monahan got for his relocation to Florida. Arriving at Kiewit, there was a significant number of recent graduates being hired and the culture of the company was similar to Facebook and Google. Being one of the very few chemical engineers in the company, I was designated Mechanical Design Engineer 6, and placed under the company president until they decided where to place me in the new evolving organization chart. The president was dynamic and a great leader.
