"I spent 24 years with Johnson & Johnson. The last 21 with LifeScan. I was very happy with J&J and looked forward to working there until retirement. Unfortunately, LifeScan fell behind its competitors, and was forced to leave the hospital business, which I supported."

"OCD is a great company making absolutely fantastic diagnostic devices for blood transfusion. It is said that every 2 minutes, someone needs a blood transfusion. I consider myself extremely fortunate to work in a company that saves millions of lives worldwide. As any other company, there is always room for improvement and I am sure that OCD and J & J are striving toward achieving that goal. I have had an amazing time here, learnt a lot of new things and am continuing to do so."

What do you like about working at Johnson & Johnson?

"I like that my coworkers make a great team and it feels like a family as we work together. I appreciate the open mind to criticism and eagerness to create innovative designs."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"My advice is to be yourself and have a true understanding of successful design that creates profit. Also, only apply if you have a true interest in the products/industry or else your lack thereof will show. You must be an expert in package design especially when it comes to pre-press. A lot of people can design but to actually create a file ready for print is different. An understanding of deadlines, paper/plastic options, color, type, legal requirements and more can help you gain that extra edge in getting the position."

What don't you like about working at Johnson & Johnson?

"I don't like when politics get in the way of my designs and hinder a great idea from forming. I accept it and work around it but the corporate conundrum can get overwhelming."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I suggest that management push to move forward with innovative designs when politics do come into play. I wish they could provide better research in support of successful creative."
