What do you like about working at Jackson Hewitt?

"I loved helping our customers in the field and if I didn't have an answer I could easily grab a manager to help."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's helpful to know how to setup a network printer and troubleshooting computer operations. Maybe you're good at taxes, that's a plus; there is also a section for tax specific questions. Their software is proprietary and you'll get about two week of training before you're live on the floor. It can be very demanding at times but ultimately rewarding."

What don't you like about working at Jackson Hewitt?

"For the most part the people on the phone were very pleasant considering they're pretty frustrated with the computer program. I've had a few calls in the past that weren't very nice. At least you can document everything in the case."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There is not much to change in my opinion. The proprietary software was always being upgraded to meet the demands and laws of the IRS."

"They need to have a full time Network Technician always on staff."

"the outsourced the department, so they have no opennings for now"

"the owner didn't care how the job was done as long as it is done"

"quality work is very impotant and will cost the company less headach"

"I have worked for many different franchises within Jackson Hewitt and I have to say that this is a very good one. The company treats their employees fairly and gives us all the help we need to our jobs. More importantly they listen to what we have to say and work with us to make improvements."

"Overall the setup was perfect. I had my own space, my own time schedule, freedom to promote outside of the doors of the Walmart I was stationed in. I bought pizzas for the staff two times, and I believe that helped me exceed my sales goals. It was very entrepreneurial, which I think was key to me surpassing my sales goals."

"I've worked for Jackson Hewitt since 2008. It is a nice company.The Houston District is one of the best, and usually top sellers.We have a good management team, and excellent supervisors. I do not have the big picture, but things usually go well. Worse thing that happens is the power goes out, and because of company policy we are not allowed to do tax returns by hand."
