"Take initiative , research everything and keep up with the language and org charts."
What don't you like about working at Raytheon?
"Within the various functions the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing at times. There seems to be a languange barrier which tends to cause meetings to be unsucessful at times. Other functions tend to point fingers when something goes wrong. There is a huge gap of old vs new... people who have worked for 20 plus years are the know it alls and people who have less than 10 years are viewed as new kid on the block. Those eligible for retirement never retire causing mid career employees to stay where they are due to the economy and other factors."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Possibly a stronger knowledge transfer program. Younger folks have the challenge of being respected by the older generation since they lack the massive amount of years in the company."
What do you like about working at Fieldale Farms?
"it was a team effort, and they were very stritct"

"no I dont. just be proffesional and well mannerd at all times"
What don't you like about working at Fieldale Farms?
"nothing, I enjoyed it all, I wish I didnt I didnt have to take long lunch breaks"

"I have none, the management seemed to be on top of everything"

What do you like about working at Metaris?
"I feel like I am appreciated. When I had an error, my boss was very positive and proactive in helping straighten it out. Even when I got laid off , everything was positive."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"You need to be self motivated and a self starter. The boss, isn't looking over your shoulder and expects you to do your job. However, know that if you have a problem these people are there for you professionally and personally."
What don't you like about working at Metaris?
"The shift was 8am - 5pm. I was used to 7-3:30. I drove 50 miles to and from work."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would make goals well known. And I would not have such an informal atmosphere."

"The ability to work on my own and make decisions without asking for permission."

"Understand that your ability to move up is limited and the market is struggling to recover."

"The support from corporate office was lacking and their ability to envision what the Dallas branch needed to be successful was never realized."

"Get their feet on the ground. Talk to their employees and their customer base to better understand what is needed to succeed."

"The company's open door policy, you could talk with any upper management. Worked to always improve your skill level with training management programs"

"This company doesn't do direct hires they use a workforce agency to place workers. But I would recommend that one must be very competent and willing to learn new things or idea's."

"Occationally, credit for and idea was not given to the people responsible for that idea."

"The philosophy if its not broke don't fix it, I believe that you must alway look for ways that it can break, so you are prepared when it does or prevent it from happening in the 1st place."

"The company became stagnant and developed a culture internal destruction and poor business practices. The fun left our work."

"Listen. Business success is shared interaction and consideration of all ideas."

"the ability to do many positions, constant change from min to min day to day. I am responsible for my work and getting my work done on time and accurately"

"be flexible and ready to work, if you can't take responsibility of your actions do not apply. other then that this is a great company to be with"

"growth oppertunity, and the fact that if we do not get the yearly contract I do not have a position"

"they need to get the yearly contracts changed to a long terrm contract, in order to have stability"

"The co-workers are great, the culture is good, and there is opportunity for advancement in many areas."

"The systems need advancing. They are slow and sometimes require double work."

"Push for more advanced, user-friendly systems, and less double work."

"Company Treats Employees Poorly"
What do you like about working at Hampton Forge?
"There are some really good people that work here that are very talented. I wish they were more appreciated but unfortunately that is not the case."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If the company includes bonuses as part of your salary arrangement, be prepared for the company to not honor those bonuses or salary reviews. The owner is notorious for slighting employees on bonus plans and also will ask many employees to work weekends even after spending 50 to 60 hours working in the office."
What don't you like about working at Hampton Forge?
"Whatever salary you are asking for that may seem agreeable to the company at first will be met with a salary well-below your expectations. The company does a switch and bait - if you say $80,000, be prepared to get an offer of 20 to 25% below your asking price. This is a very hostile work environment. Owner belittles and berates his employees without reason in meetings. Company often hires unqualified people into various positions. Employee turn rates are very high. The owner will constantly change your core responsiblities without due diligence and understanding the value of the work you do. This company offers poor medical insurance. (Be prepared to spend $600 or more per month for medical insurance if you have a family). The owner will also knowlingly sell bad/damaged product to customers - rusting, poor cratfmanship and defects to name a few. The end result is that the consumer is getting a poorly made product. Do not take a job with Hampton Forge unless you are desperate."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The owner has demoralized each and every employee at the company. It is hard to imagine that some employees continue to work at this establishment but due to out of maintaining health benefits and keeping a job to feed their families."

"It is a challenging and ever changing environment and the employees were great to work with"

"The company is going downsizing and selling off the subsidiaries. Don'e do it."

"most of all I enjoyed the Independence of the job, mainly during the trade shows in Vegas"

"for this particular CEO I really have no suggestions, it was a great experience"

"Working in the back room and not having to deal with rude customers that abound in Miami"

"Don't consider making it a career. If you need cash for the short term, look at it just as that."
What don't you like about working at West Marine?
"Nothing was ever good enough for management! I regularly went above and beyond expectations, and was met with a Meh, even with all my responsibilities as manager, I could still do your job in my spare time. Nope, not exactly encouraging!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would include fair pay, and not require employees to up-sell certain plans to people who did not need them, and clearly did not want them."
