"While in management the compensation and growth oppportunities were below adequate. The business also closed."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Learn as much as possible. Compensation may be inadequate but one should still aquire skills."

"Catalina was a great place to learn about imports, but difficult integrate into the main office culture due to the distance of both locations."
What do you like about working at Catalina Lighting?
"Catalina opened a growth opportunity for me in the import area because 95% of their product were direct imports."
What don't you like about working at Catalina Lighting?
"I was a very closed culture the first year. Most people had been with the company for years and I was the first 'outsider' to come in. I had 3 CEO's, 4 National Account Managers and 2 account coordinators during the time I worked there. So the internal structure was a little rocky. But, to their credit, we also had 3 different WM buyers and 4 replenishment managers (WM) during that time frame as well, so it was a bit of a challenge for all of us."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Understand that Wal-Mart is synonymous with change. Be open to it and responsive, receptive and transitions will go much smoother."

"The culture was very good there and they let you make your own decisions but still had someone to refer back to if you needed it."

"There was no job security, they made bad business decisions"

"Evans has went out of business but if I had something to tell them was to look in the future"

"I liked learning a little about Oracle and SAP."

"Work there only if you really need the money."

"I disliked working every Saturday and Sunday, 60 hours a week, mandatory - burnout risk."
