"Young, dynamic engineers in the EADP (Engineering Associate Development Program) program."

"Again, its been many years since I worked there - would recommend the candidates discuss their skills, career goals, and fully understand the position(s) they are applying for."

What don't you like about working at GTE Corp.?

"Once outside the EADP program, work opportunities seemed less dynamic. Goal was to place engineering associates in a position with not much regard for the engineering associate's specific skills or interest - focus was on company requirements at that time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"This was many many years ago - and likely much has changed - but listen to desires of EADP graduates for types of jobs - most were working in exciting, fun positions with placement options being much less interesting work - hence the high turnover."

"Insufficient opportunities to advance and grow professionally. Hard to make an impact on that organization, but a perfect place for non-performers."

"Company was financially stable."

"Don't, unless you are looking for a comfortable place to retire."

"Everyone didn't care for results. Often they were buried in details, to cover up people's lack of experience and skills. I needed a place to spread my wings and experiment... in the end, to make a difference."

"Go outside the industry and find people with proven track records and fresh ideas."

"This company has been bought and sold too many times and it doesn't have the same product makeup."

"Great people to work with. Job advancement was fantastic. The product was mature and generally accepted by all businesses at the time."

"Upper level management was sometimes arbitrary. I was also exposed to 9 months per year travel."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Develop closer understanding with mid level managers and localize territories to limit travel and expenses."
