"Young, dynamic engineers in the EADP (Engineering Associate Development Program) program."

"Again, its been many years since I worked there - would recommend the candidates discuss their skills, career goals, and fully understand the position(s) they are applying for."

What don't you like about working at GTE Corp.?

"Once outside the EADP program, work opportunities seemed less dynamic. Goal was to place engineering associates in a position with not much regard for the engineering associate's specific skills or interest - focus was on company requirements at that time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"This was many many years ago - and likely much has changed - but listen to desires of EADP graduates for types of jobs - most were working in exciting, fun positions with placement options being much less interesting work - hence the high turnover."

"Like any Telco, GTE had its issues, but once there, it was a great place to be."

"Like any Telco, there was a lot of politics."

"The company cared about its employees."

"Very bureaucratic. Too long to make decisions and not enough empowerment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Empower your management while holding them accountable for their decisions. Don't require every budgetary decision to be approved at an SVP level."
