"None, the managers where decent and fair."

"Working in a Database Environment was my preference.The attitude and cooperation of coworkers was exceptional."

What don't you like about working at GTE Corp.?

"The last minute jobs asked to perform at 4:25 by another section who never had their data prepared during normal hours. Yet, I always responded. I need to remind myself I need go home at closing time also."

"Insufficient opportunities to advance and grow professionally. Hard to make an impact on that organization, but a perfect place for non-performers."

"Company was financially stable."

"Don't, unless you are looking for a comfortable place to retire."

What don't you like about working at GTE Corp.?

"Everyone didn't care for results. Often they were buried in details, to cover up people's lack of experience and skills. I needed a place to spread my wings and experiment... in the end, to make a difference."

"Go outside the industry and find people with proven track records and fresh ideas."

"When control was lost GTE did not try to find jobs for the ones getting cut within the company."

"Young, dynamic engineers in the EADP (Engineering Associate Development Program) program."

"Again, its been many years since I worked there - would recommend the candidates discuss their skills, career goals, and fully understand the position(s) they are applying for."

What don't you like about working at GTE Corp.?

"Once outside the EADP program, work opportunities seemed less dynamic. Goal was to place engineering associates in a position with not much regard for the engineering associate's specific skills or interest - focus was on company requirements at that time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"This was many many years ago - and likely much has changed - but listen to desires of EADP graduates for types of jobs - most were working in exciting, fun positions with placement options being much less interesting work - hence the high turnover."

"GTE no longer exists as a company."
