"2 times a year bonus (all employees) after your first 6 months"

"expect to work for every dollar you make and if you have family you will need a second job because of cost of living"

"micromanaged, always short staffed for expectations, too many chiefs, no workers"

"Be realistic about goals, stop promoting just to promote. Wake up"

"Have gone away from allowing managers to be merchandisers, no thought processes, everything driven from corporate."

"Allow managers to come up with and implement sound merchandising concepts."

"About the only thing I liked was getting off at 3pm when it happened."

"I would do anything in my power to avoid choosing this company to develop my career ,just not the place for any family oriented quality individual ."

"This company only cares about profit, you are only a number that will be replaced if your profitability fails.training non existent , but they hold you accountable anyway once you make to many mistakes on things you werent trained on to begin with.constantly threatening your job."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Training and developing your people is always worthwhile . The philosophy of just continually hiring and firing employees running through them as I often heard quoted is not a sound business practice.the people that fiesta has selected for a lot of supervisor positions are below industry standards in quality and quite a few are convicted felons as well. Which to me speaks volumes about the organization."
What do you like about working at Harris Teeter?
"Fellow employees. Though under constant berating from store manager and co-managers...they were good people of quality caliber."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't get sucked in. Harris Teeter couldn't care less about you. They are a publicly traded company on the NYSE and regard shareholders far above employees. Store managers will treat you badly."
What don't you like about working at Harris Teeter?
"Harris Teeter admitted to me in my exit interview that they know they have a problem with store managers. They just fail to act in correcting that problem. It is really unfortunate that they keep the current manager at the Kernersville store. He is awful......just an awful, awful person."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Same as for the current government - Fire them all and start fresh."

"Safeway has a high turnover rate with 1-2 years before benefits kick in."
What do you like about working at Safeway?
"I get the respect and to be able to stay busy during my shift."
What don't you like about working at Safeway?
"I do not like throwing people under the bus, however, from the district manager down to divisional store managers/asst, it seems that it's better to look good rather than be good."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Do not ride one or two people because they'll do the job. Make everyone responsible for their own part. Reward workers and don't let the manager that is married in through the Denver president, to manage a store."

"The abitlity to to use your creative side to merchendise product. Great small business feel, you get very personal with both employees and customers."
