"Hard to find fiend Field Tech with experience customer service and Certification and can handle all calls and be on time."
"The things that I love about my current job as a field technician is that I love being able to prove to everyone that I can get any job done no matter the task or time. I love the opportunity to make things work or fix problems that most could not understand at the first sign of a troubleshooting. The only thing I hate about being a field technician is that there is not enough troubleshooting to go around for all of the field technicians."
"The company tries to stay somewhat understaffed so the staff people can report better profits. Hours are wildly variable, you can literally work at any time. You are encouraged to acquire more skills (WAQTC, ACI, etc.) but you are expected to do this on your own time. The field seems to be splitting into degreed people doing inspections and minimally trained personnel getting the dirty jobs, while both fields have their salaries lowered (check the Federal Government Bluebook of occupations). I have since left the field and it's the best thing I've done career-wise in 10 years."
"The best thing about being a Field Tech is that you're not in a 4X4 space, get to meet different people in the field which grows your network. But it also comes with the down side that you would be in traffic a lot depending on where you're going, aside from that, don't know what kind of person you will meet."
"I hate nothing about it because I always enjoy working with my hands, so I love my job."
"Loved everything about working here."
"The thing I love like technical is all the knowledge acquired and always learning something new. This a good experience for me. I hate nothing about the position."
"I enjoy getting out in the field and feeling like I put in an honest effort for the day and feel a sense of accomplishment. Sometimes the long days drag on but it is all part of the job. Having a computer background and managerial skills allows me to get into the office and break up the job from just field work, which I also really enjoy."
"I really like the freedom this job gives me to do my job but dislike the lack of help and the company disregard to our quality of life."
"I loved experiencing the refinery and being in the middle of it all. I learned a lot and became more comfortable in that setting. The hours are long and tough but I adjusted quickly and accepted it. The things that were less enjoyable about the position was that it was not engineer related work and more labor. I have no problems with the labor but would enjoy moving up to a position where I am working more in line with what I studied."
"I love my job and what comes with it. I hate working so hard to prove my ability and the things I can't control as far as the company keeping contracts."
"I love the job, I do not really care for the travel at times, but it is always a new experience."
