What do you like about working at Farmers?

"FIG was a class company until about 5 years ago. The company is now being run into the ground by management that is over its head."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Avoid!!! Stay Away!!! Do not swallow BS from recruiter!!! Call agents who have been with the company. Company is so underhanded that the agent you interview may think it's a set up. Recruiter will promise you opportunity and you will find yourself behind the financial 8 ball. Oh ya, that subsidy... you have to pay it back. They provide you with subsidy so that you can buy their terrible advertising only to send you the bill. Simply pathetic!!!"

What don't you like about working at Farmers?

"Currently, FIG is a rudderless ship full speed ahead. Part of company stradegy is to get new agents in financial trouble as ASAP. This way the agent can be abused with few options. Premiums are way over priced, but cannot be reduced as revenue is needed for eastern expansion. Rather than fix what is broken, company is doubling down with eastern expansion. Excellent chance this company will soon lose its financial ratings."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop promoting yes men. Advancement is reserved for suck ups who tow the company line, showing no initiative. Management is incestual. Very PC oriented. Every advertising brochure you pick up will have an oriental, black and a woman. Think I'm kidding. Pick up a brochure, any brochure!"

"DON'T GET TRICKED - OZ IS BEHIND THE CURTAIN."

What do you like about working at Farmers?

"I liked the idea of owning my own business, but this is only a sales tactic by Farmers. After opening my own agency I realized my District Manager had lied to me over and over just to sign me up."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't interview with these snakes! While going through Farmers half ass training program I saw 33 people bankrupt in less than 8 months. I thought I was the best and I was bankrupt in 24 months. I lost every dime I made with Farmers plus the $120K I put in and after I closed my shop I was billed $6,200! They will screw you! Farmers is not the best small business in America. I should have gone and sold used cars instead of selling insurance for Farmers. Take my direct advice and go the other way, or you will waste your time and money!!"

What don't you like about working at Farmers?

"They are sneaky! The District Manager told me he would take me under his wing and pave the road for my career. I had not even reached my career appointment and my DM told me I had to find my own office. I did as instructed and never heard from the man. When I did call with a question the DM would tell me he had not sold insurance in years and that I needed to call someone else. The District Office also holds information from their agents. If you think you can work for this company and make a nice living selling insurance you are mistaken. The contract you sign with the D.M.M. is a screw-N. As an agent you have to pass a Series 6 and 63 exam to stay an agent. If you don't pass these securities exams you must sell 50 plus life insurance policies. I took the exams twice and twice I failed, so I sold 100 life insurance policies. The company came to my office and asked me to resign. They told me I had made one mistake while selling a life policy for $50K. I had 500 policies in force and Farmers took those and distributed them to the districts other 6 agents. This is how Farmers continues to grow its districts. I lost the $120K I put in and lost every dime I make working for these DOGS, plus they sent me a bill for $6,200 and did not pay me my final commission check! DON'T GO TO WORK FOR THESE PEOPLE!! IT LOOKS GOOD FROM THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN. I was 3rd in the state for selling Auto Policies and 2nd in the state for selling Life Policies. I did in 2 years what takes most agents 5 years. I was one hell of a salesman."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Change your contract so not to bankrupt agents."
