Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't believe the double talk from management, this is a company with little job satisfaction and minimal compensation. Their corporate position is to do the least amount of actual work for the most amount of money from the customer, but they expect the worker level personnel to make up the slack between the promised customer expectations and the minimal staffing levels of EDS."

What don't you like about working at Electronic Data Systems?

"The management chain of command was very sketchy. The place was matrix management run amok, too many management layers with the management not understanding what the workers needed to get their job done. They had non-technical people managing highly technical people with the resulting confusion in level of effort needed to complete jobs to meet expectations. IT was a terrible place for engineers because they just didn't want change or innovation, they just wanted status quo with the least amount of expenditure."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get rid of all of the layers of management and administration and hire more technicians and support personnel instead of middle managers and admin people. There were far too many people managing the paperwork and not enough people supporting the customers. It was very hard to make improvements due to the glacial nature of change in such a bureaucratic behemoth."

Account Executive

"Great foundation for a business career."
