"One of the reasons I am leaving is that I felt I was not challenged enough at the job. As a fresh face in the working world, the company offers a great opportunity for a good entry level position; however, after being there for so many years, I felt I was not able to reach my full potential because of the lack of challenge and there was no room for advancement in the company."

"The required firm contributions, in addition to the client work, which can keep you up late at night with no additional compensation. It's the only way to get a raise, but it doesn't guarantee you a raise if you're outside of the boys group."

"Significant travel demands can lead to staff burnout. Travel between the West Coast and the Midwest and East Coast is not rare."

"You won't make a lot of money through raises. You might need to change careers."

"The raises are small and there is a lot of travel. I don't like taking red eye flights."

"I would pay my employees more based upon how the company performed for the year."

"You really have complete control of your career. There is an open door policy and it is real, unlike other companies out there. Partners and directors are very accessible."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you are not a self starter you will have a tough time starting out at Deloitte. You really need to be able to get out there on your own, network with senior members of the firm, and show your worth. There is little hand holding and that can be a good thing or a bad thing."
What don't you like about working at Deloitte?
"Sometimes it feels as if I have too much control, or that they do not guide me enough. It is good at times because you can really control your career but if you are not interested in making partner and just want a good job without working 60 hrs a week, you will be looked at as if you are not working hard enough. I am not concerned with making partner because it is not something I can see myself doing, that does not mean I am not a good worker and do not bring in a lot more money to the firm than my salary."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would increase the effectiveness of the resource managers. It can be difficult to get staffed on a project at times and while there is a person who is in charge of that, it does not feel like they are always that valuable."

"Leaving home and getting paid. Most teammates are also likable and fun to work with."

"Be ready to work like a dog, not have a life, work with disorganized managers, management who do not care about employee well being."

"The inhuman treatment of contractors, the attitude of the managers towards employees. Exploitative nature and unreasonable attitude. Not making anyone feel like part of team."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Concentrate on making the contractors feel a part of the team, foster good work habits and culture and treat everyone with respect and care for the employees to make them more productive. Not exploit the employees."
