"I worked as an executive coordinator in the ESC at Deloitte for two years. There are about 150 others in the department. The management is shady and needs a lot of improvement; the working model is fair. The compensation is a bit below average and there is little room to earn raises and even smaller room for career growth since the department is internally-facing. Expect for management to play favorites, make promises unkept, and be generally unorganized as a whole. The company itself is wonderful and cares about your success and health. I recommend working for the firm, but I DO NOT endorse or recommend working in the executive service center."

"Deloitte is a tremendous firm that takes care of its employees and provides the support and training necessary to help people jumpstart their careers. One slight area of warning for would-be consultants is that the work DC does is skewing more and more towards long-term, large scale implementations of ERPs, planning suites, etc. These large projects are certainly worthy work to do, but they definitely have less of the free-form strategic excitement that used to be associated with management consulting."

"Watch your back: Just because someone is nice to you does not mean they are your friend."

"The back stabbing and the drama queens who infested the place. They felt the only way to get ahead was to pull someone down."

"You need to promote people on merit, and not on politics."

What do you like about working at Deloitte?

"You really have complete control of your career. There is an open door policy and it is real, unlike other companies out there. Partners and directors are very accessible."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are not a self starter you will have a tough time starting out at Deloitte. You really need to be able to get out there on your own, network with senior members of the firm, and show your worth. There is little hand holding and that can be a good thing or a bad thing."

What don't you like about working at Deloitte?

"Sometimes it feels as if I have too much control, or that they do not guide me enough. It is good at times because you can really control your career but if you are not interested in making partner and just want a good job without working 60 hrs a week, you will be looked at as if you are not working hard enough. I am not concerned with making partner because it is not something I can see myself doing, that does not mean I am not a good worker and do not bring in a lot more money to the firm than my salary."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would increase the effectiveness of the resource managers. It can be difficult to get staffed on a project at times and while there is a person who is in charge of that, it does not feel like they are always that valuable."

What do you like about working at Deloitte?

"I don't like working there, it gets on my nerves."

"Look the other way... there are other consulting companies with less stress an no internal initiatives."

"You have some freedoms, but you may or may not get the credit for work produced."

"I would listen to the thoughts of all employees and not jump to conclusions."
