"The employees, and customers. I so enjoyed teaching the other associates. To sell and still give excellent service to the customer."

"JCPenneys is a wonderful company to work for. I worked for them for 11 years. Prior to working there I had been in some type of Management for the last 20 years. This was just a hard store."
What don't you like about working at JC Penney?
"That this store's prior staff came with set in ways. They would complain if the company waited to try something new. This negative attitude would usually make my job so much harder."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Work together, communicate and above all present a united front."

"I really enjoyed the people I worked with. I also enjoyed having the calls where customers were very grateful for the service I rendered them."

"Remember that every caller needs to feel that you are giving them the absolute best customer service possible."

"As with any call center not every customer is going to be happy but you must remember to put yourself in their shoes and give them the best care you can."

"Continue to have ongoing technical training for new employees. Hands-on experiences are the best because they will retain more information."

"It was a job is about the best thing I can say about working at American Messaging Services."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Keep your options open. Bare in mind that they have laid off a majority of their work force since its inception. They have only recalled a few. Other benefits are minuscule compared to what other companies offer."
What don't you like about working at American Messaging?
"American Messaging was purchased from Verizon and coming from a large company that had more resources to a company that had high hopes and little resources was quite difficult. As a front line supervisor, we were expected to handle escalations, but one would not expect to deal with escalations stemming from the companies lack of paying vendors necessary to run a business. For example, bills were paid based on if they were a priority and not because they were due. As new employees to AMS, we began sceptical and were made many promises that NEVER materialized so the relationship began with a series of lies and never got better."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be honest with your employees and treat them as you would like to be treated. There should never be an air of superiority amongst the ranks. If you promise something, deliver on that promise. Happy employees make for happy customers and happy stock holders."

"There was really no other place than sales for a CSR to advance to."

"Create more opportunities for the office staff to be recognized, not just the sales force."
