"Worked at Cox on and off for 9 years. The company used to be a good employer relative to the 4 other companies I worked for in the past. The pay's decent. But almost impossible to move up the corporate ladder, unless you're in their good boy and girl network. The supervisors don't care about succession planning or employee career growth. It's not a good place to be for mid-career professionals and even harder for the aging demographics. I think HR is now paying more attention to the younger workforce and focused on bring in lots of college hires. I also witnessed discrimination for specific diversity and older age groups. Lots of seasoned employees being packaged out every 6 months."
"Great company! Highly recommend!"
"Cox is a great place to work and takes excellent care of their employees. They maintain basic family values throughout the company. I was very shocked when I started working at Cox to learn 3 months after I accepted the position that they were selling CMG, the business division I supported. Needless to say, I stayed until the sale was completed and my position terminated. I wish I was able to continue my career with Cox Enterprises."
"New company with good ethics."
"I worked for Cox Enterprises for nearly 13 years throughout the different companies. It was difficult to move up progressively and didn’t offer next level opportunities. I decided to move on"
"Media company that is making a decent effort to move from legacy channels into the digital future. Spent the last five years developing a CMS in-house for all their web/mobile publishing; transition to a commercial CMS is impending. Smart engineers who get things done."
"I have worked for ATG about 3 years. It is a fast growing, constantly changing company. The good: Fun work environment, great benefits and some flexibility. Your progress is only limited by your imagination. The not so good: It can be hard to move up if you are not very political, changes come so hard and fast that it can be fatiguing and feel a little arbitrary. It can be a little hard to do your job when you use a lot of tools that don't talk to each other. Some departments are a bit clannish. Opportunities: Make the company more attractive to younger workers. While consumer-side technology is pretty good, the employee user experience needs some rethinking."
"This was a contract position for me, so there are a lot of added benefits that full-time employees get that I do not. That being said, the work environment is nice and I think that overall this is a good company to work for."
"I've worked for the company for over 6 years and have found it to be a very equitable and noteworthy organization. Overall my immediate team is the most talented and dedicated anyone could ask to work with. The company has some nuanced issues with top to bottom communication, but they are working on it. I would recommend the company to anyone seeking experience in the media industry interested in working on evolving challenges."
"Been a good company...except for the fact that they sold their operations in this city."
"Great place to work and grow. Company is committed to work/life balance."
