I've worked for the company for over 6 years and have found it to be a very equitable and noteworthy organization. Overall my immediate team is the most talented and dedicated anyone could ask to work with. The company has some nuanced issues with top to bottom communication, but they are working on it. I would recommend the company to anyone seeking experience in the media industry interested in working on evolving challenges.
I think they are a good company, I believe some of the staff, esp. management played favorites far too much. It felt like a older, more depressing version of High school. The money and benefits were average. A little low for what some of our degrees call for, but all in all, it was an OK company to start a career at, aside from the print side becoming non-existent. If you are looking into Cox, it should be for upper level management, or Digital Sales.
Great question, I along with several of my colleagues and my Sales Director did a lot on Monday morning quarterbacking. Overall, I believe the senior Cox Management Team put the wrong leaders in place. In six months after this leadership was in place we lost 42% of our business. The economy wasn't the reason it was change in our delivery.
