"While leaving out the obvious, core-mark is a great place for a hard worker to excel and make more money."

What do you like about working at Core-Mark International?

"I liked that there was always work to be done and that there were not as many workers with motivational problems. I also liked the accomplished feeling after I was tracked with a really high pieces per hour amount and sliding around the docks on the jack."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you're interviewing for this company, you must make sure that you indeed have some sort of knowledge of dry grocery sales. This means you must understand the W.I.C. system, holidays/seasons (what sells, from firewood to smores, rice chex, to gatorade and bbq items). If you understand what happens on the store level, then as a buyer, you can pay attention to past sales at certain prices, and see how many units u went through. then you compare it to the general trend of the market, and what holidays are coming up and how much room you have in your warehouse. then look at the new price and decide how much you want to push out for merchandising and how much you want to keep on hand. I have not done it myself, but this is my perception of it."
