"In one word. Toxic. Unless you are based in Texas, or are related to the CEO somehow through blood, marriage, or being a former lackey at Sears your opinion is worthless. If they recruit you RUN away. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE."

"Great industry (music and music education), required operations turn-around which I really enjoy leading. Super staff, willing to learn new skills, re-engineer processes and culturally shift to customer focused. Limited corporate ambition for international growth however. At times the paradigms at staff level were dominated by CFO who did not understand or want to apply LEAN correctly and/or Throughput Accounting practices; led to missed growth opportunities domestically and internationally."

"I've worked for Conn's for over a year, and I have to say it's one of the best jobs I've ever had. It is a fast paced sales job. The hours are long (by your choice since it's hard to leave). But you will be able to make money, I make about $5000 a month (in a slow store). People who complain about this job don't work very hard at it. It's retail in any retail store you have to deal with flexible schedules, so be ready for that. The compensation more than makes up for it. Work hard, make money, simple."

"I have worked for Conn's over 5 years and found it to be an overall good company for which to work. However, with as many rules and company policies that changes really on a daily basis, I found it to be less stable as it could be, and often times tend to be reactive instead of proactive in a number of areas."

What do you like about working at Conn's?

"Great pay through holidays only.Pretty good discount."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Everyone gets hired."

What don't you like about working at Conn's?

"New employees come in just about every other week, so if you cant hack it expect to be replaced. You must meet your quota, in a low volume store, this is impossible. Online credit apps are hush hush which is 60% of buisness, they dont let you in the system, probably the worst thing since sales are your job security. If customer signs their signature weird or if they forget, they make you drive to their house to get it, if you dont they dock your pay. If you work at a low volume store like I did, expect to barely make quota during the holidays, if its not the holidays forget about it, find another job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Give access to online applications to all employees, or store level managers. STOP HIRING EMPLOYEES ON A WEEKLY BASIS. The 'up' system needs to be revamped. Stop the sales meetings 20 miles away, the videos are enough. Instead of having your SENIOR management come check out the stores have them ask employees their opinions on things."
