"I learned a lot about Technical Writing. I call this position my boot camp. This was my first professional-level Technical Writing position. They allowed me to try to work with web-based training and leaned on my strengths."

"At the time, there were too many processes, procedures, and red tape to follow in order to get things done. Perhaps that's changed after 6 years."

"Always be honest with your employees. Treat them fairly, and don't expect miracles."

"Ask why CEO does not move to Long Island."

What don't you like about working at Computer Associates?

"we sell our software, and that's how we get our profit. CA is not willing to invest $$ in software engineer, developer, most of us use same out-dated computer for years, which is so shameful when we cannot duplicate client's problem because we only have minimum basic environment which can barely proof the product is working out of box. CA renew/remodel the office once a while, but I think they invested money in wrong place. Let me tell you, we do NOT have good product because of having have poor equipment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"increase salary, improve equipment. Then we will have better products, then you will get more profits. You cut the salary, not willing to improve equipment, spend money on renovations, all these are useless. Then you make less profit, and then lay off people."
