"Senior Management began to care more about covering their mistakes and not getting in trouble instead of focusing on servicing our customers (both external and internal customers)."

"Focus more on the customers and lower level employees and don't get so caught up in procedure."

"I loved being knowledgeable and assisting customers with system repairs or upgrades. My favorite time of year was Christmas, and several of my customers returned to me specifically for my advice."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I recommend that you be passionate about working in a retail environment and that you be motivated to make sales instead of relationships. In the end that is how your success with the company will be measured."

What don't you like about working at CompUSA?

"I was overworked and underpaid, and in the end was laid off for not being able to perform the work requested. This was a high stress environment where you were measured not by the quality of your service, but by the quantity. A focus on sales, regardless of whether the customer needed it or not. I couldn't hold with those ideals."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Shift your focus toward customer support and show recognition for employees that have initiative to improve brand name."

"It was my employer in the computing industry - and I loved the people / customers enough to stay around for it's entire life in Jackson. I had direct access to new technologies and interesting customers ranging from home users to movie producers!"

"I loved every aspect of working for Comp. I never worked there full time - I was always in school while they were open. It was PERFECT for a part time college kid."
