What do you like about working at CIBER?

"I'm not familiar with working for Ciber as I worked for AlphaNet. At AlphaNet I enjoyed the people I worked with, we meshed as family and helped each other. I also enjoyed the type of accounts I was assigned, I learned a lot from the projects I was assigned."

What don't you like about working at CIBER?

"Management never took the time talk with their staff. Thy were more concerned with the their bank accounts, that they never even knew the names of their staff members."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management approaches have changed over the years, however some managers still don't understand how to create a team environment. IT ALL begins with your staff."

"the staff and the work . and that I was hired to built the NOC"

What don't you like about working at CIBER?

"after the company was sold it was never the same company and ciber staff didn't like alphanet people and always looked to remove them."

"keep the staff more informed."

"If you like contract work its a good job."

"No longterm security"

"Better planning"

"Some of the people at the branch office were savvy enough to help me with compensation issues."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't expect any loyalty from Ciber. They are out for number 1, and that isn't you. Probably no worse than any other company that runs contractors, but no better either."

What don't you like about working at CIBER?

"The director of our branch used me as a pawn in a contract negotiation with a client. There was no consideration of me as a human being who needed a job, only whether or not Ciber could dominate the job market with this client. A harrowing experience I would wish on nobody."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Respect your consultants more."

"No loyalty to employees...dumped into an assignment and forgotten."

What do you like about working at CIBER?

"I thought Ciber was an honest company. I never saw anything that made me believe they were over billing clients. That meant something to me. They tried to do right by their clients. I was never told to do anything questionable just to increase profits."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I think this is a typical consulting company. You are important to them if you make them money, and are easily disposed of if your marketability drops."

What don't you like about working at CIBER?

"I was almost a 10 year employee working on the same assignment. When the assignment ended, Ciber made no effort to find me another contract. It was towards the beginning of the offshoring craze. When my contract ended, they asked for my laptop, badge, gave me two weeks salary, and it was the end."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think companies hurt themselves when they treat employees poorly. Word does get around. When I went on job interviews, the HR personnel would sometimes tell me what they heard from other candidates that worked for the same companies. They sometimes had harsh words for these companies."

"No more team building exercises, please."

"You never know if you have a job after a project was about to end"

"Break the silos and build one cohesive corporation"

"If you're looking to get into the IT industry this is decent place to start. Chance for a security clearance, training and certification you cant get ithout otherwise joining the military. But I wouldn't plan to stay there unless you really like your situation with them."

"Not much room for advancement in position or pay."

"Increase pay for the guy at the low end."

"I didn't interview for them, they needed me that bad for a project."

"They shielded the fact that they didn't have any work once the project was done."

"I liked the people at the client site but Ciber never gave enough information about the position and never was concerned with the working conditions of the consultant only the client."

"The way they treated the consultants"

"Remember that the consultants are the most important piece of the puzzle if the consultants are not happy then the client won't be either"
